Helicobacter pylori infection has been reported to be a risk factor of gastric cancer. On the one hand, duodenal ulcer is known to be a protective factor of gastric cancer. We report a 52 year-old woman who was diagnosed as early gastric cancer at 4 years after eradication of Helicobacter pylori due to duodenal ulcer. Before 4 years, there was no atrophy or intestinal metaplasia in antrum and body. This is a case in which early gastric cancer developed despite eradication of Helicobacter pylori and history of duodenal ulcer without atrophy or intestinal metaplasia.
